Hollypaw and Hawkpaw both froze when Hazelstar said to stop and be quiet. When she said there was a fox around Hawkpaws eyes lit up with pleasure, while Hollypaw's eyes widened with fear. Hollypaws ears were pumping as she heard Hazelstars command "Hollypaw, run back to camp and warn the warriors. Bring some back but leave enough to defend the camp. HURRY! She nodded and took off like a bullet towards camp, heart racing, and mind determined to help save the cats, and her brother.
Hawkpaw helped make a circle withthe others, standing next to his mentor, Mythicstream. He had his head low and his claws unsheathed, waiting for the fox to come. He looked around him at the others, trying to see what they were doing, because he didn't know any battle training yet he wanted to at least wanted to look like he knew what he was doing.

"Whatever you do Hawkpaw. Don't get bit. Foxes have one of the nastiest bites." Mythicstream told her apprentice. She really didn't want to fight a fox right now. They were the prey now. But at least, unlike the mice, they could fight back. Mythicstream's eyes kept moving from side to side. She wouldn't let this fox sneak up on them. All of this excitement brought a memory to her head. It was the day her father died. He told her that this was what it meant to be a warrior. To fight and die for your Clan. Giving your life instead of another was what made SkyClan proud. Her thoughts went back to the present. |

Hollypaw burst into camp, panting breathlessly after running all the way back, "HELP!" she cried frantically, "A fox is attacking by the Nightclan border!" she yowled loudly.
Iceowl Was already up on his feet, "Silverfall! you and I will go back! Hollypaw, you stay here and see if Spottednight needs anything, and keep your ears open!" he ordered and then flew out of camp towards the border with Silverfall on his heels.
Hawkpaw listened to his mentor closely and nodded when she finished, "Yes Mythicstream." he said and told himself over and over in his mind, Don't get bit, watch the teeth

Spottednight padded back into the clearing and blinked, looking around. There seemed to be a bunch of commotions as Iceowl tossed out orders. "Silverfall! you and I will go back! Hollypaw, you stay here and see if Spottednight needs anything, and keep your ears open!" Tilting her head a bit confused, her ears picked up her name. She padded over as Iceowl and Silverfall dashed from the camp. The rest of the camp seemed to be in an ordly chaos, warriors slipping from their dens and a few guarding the nersery. That could mean many things but Spottednight just wanted to be sure.
Stopping next to the worked up apprentice she flicked her tail. "Hollypaw, what has gotten the camp in an uproar? It's almost like someone let loose a hornets nest." She could read the fear and concern in the apprentices stance and eyes. It made Spottednight a bit nervous, though she tried hard not to show it. Her voice was calm and soothing. "A fox?" She paused to think then nodded. "Well, if there is indeed a fox out there, then would you like to help me get some herbs ready for any wounds? Better safe then sorry..." She was trying to take Hollypaws mind off the things that troubled it. Hoping to help calm the young apprentice down.

The fox was moving directly towards the group of cats walking fast but cautiously. Her eyes lit up as she saw the cats for the first time. Picking up speed she ran and jumped onto the closest cat, a black she-cat with a little white on her chest, with her mouth wide open. This fox was young and had no idea what she was doing. She saw cats and saw easy prey.
Hazelstar saw the fox a second before she leapt on Mythicstream. It was that second that allowed her to jump to Mythicstream's side and begin clawing at the fox's red pelt. "Attack!" she cried knowing that maybe if all of them attacked at once the fox would be too overwhelmed to fight back and run away. That was the hope and the plan, if they could chase the fox off of their territory and give her the scare of her life then maybe she would never mess with a cat again.

Hawkpaw braced himself as the fox jumped on his mentor. He got a jolt of Adrenalin and jumped onto the foxes back, remembering to avoid the teeth as Mythicstream had said. his claws stuck into the pelt of the fox and tore their way back threw the skin. Hawkpaw was feeling excited and fearful at this moment, but he kept concentrating on the fox. He leaned forward and sank his teeth into the foxes shoulder.
Hollypaw nodded, "Yes a fox is attacking at the Nightclan border!" she informed Spottednight, getting her breath back. She dipped her head to Spottednight, "Sure I'll help you! I hope no one gets hurt that bad though, especially not Hawkpaw and Iceowl." she meowed thinking of her brother and father with worry.

Faintstep hissed,his eyes blazing with fury.he leaped twoard the fox,eyes feirce."get away!Go back to your little pile of foxdung of a family!"he snarled,teeth diggging into its neck."he was dislodged as he was kicked away,and he landed on the ground on his feet,unbalanced,and charged,hanging on to its leg.blood welled from his wound,but he didnt let go.hesaws toolate,the black paw slammed into his face,and he flew back,landing with a large thump.

Mythicstream slipped away from the fox as her Clan mates attacked it. "Mouse-brain!" She spat at the fox. What was it thinking?! It stood no chance! Mythicstream jumped into the fight and bit into the foxes leg and started pulling it backwards. The fox did get get a good chunk of her shoulder when it jumped on her but it could of been worse. Mythicstream then saw Fainstep and let go of the foxes leg. She ran over to Fainstep to aid him. "Are you alright? Can you get up?" She asked. Her own wound was bleed very badly but she wanted to make sure her Clan mate was alright first. |

The fox stumbled backwards slightly as all the cats attacked her. Her shoulder had began to bleed because of the smallest cat. She lunged at him teeth bared only to be distracted by another bigger cat screaming something jumping on her. She kicked out with her back leg sending that cat sprawling. She felt her leg being pulled backwards so she jumped around to attack that cat but she was already gone. She was starting to feel exhausted but she made one more leap towards she closest cat but ending up coming short just getting scratched in the face. She yelped before turning and running. This wasn't an easy meal after all.
Hazelstar watched as Faintstep got kicked away and then Mysticstream go after her. That left her and Hawkpaw left. So far he had been fighting well, especially since he hadn't had any battle training, and she wasn't too worried about him. The fox lunged at her again but her distance was off giving her perfect access to scratch her face. That was when the fox had enough and turned to run. "Hawkpaw, come with me to chase the fox off our territory. Mysticstream, stay with Faintstep, and send any other warriors that come to follow!" she called out before sprinting after the fox. She wasn't going to take the chance that the fox wouldn't turn and double back towards the camp once again.

Mythicstream nodded and stayed with Fainstep like she was told. She kept an eye out for her apprentice as well. He was fighting good enough but he hadn't had any battle training before so he could easily make a big mistake. She kept looking for more warriors to come help. What was taking them so long? What was keeping them?! She knew Fainstep would be alright but she wouldn't leave him until they could take him back to camp. Has she watched her Clan mates fight the fox she couldn't believe how much of a problem it was. It was just one fox!

Hawkpaw nodded and did as Hazelstar said. He jumpe after the red pelted monster. He looked to Mythicstream and smiled a grin that showed his excitement. He ran as fast as he could, but it wasn't as fast as Hazelstar, but he was trying.
Icehawk ran up to where the cat were, Silverfall was following him, but he wasn't sure where she'd gone now. "where are Hazelstar and Hawkpaw?" he asked quickly to Mythicstream. He looked at Faintstep and gasped, "Silverfall should be coming up any minute, she can help you get him back to camp." he said to the warrior.

Mythicstream let out a sigh of relief when backup arrived. "Over their fighting the fox." Mythicstream told him and pointed her tail to where Hazelstar and Hawkpaw were at. "Ok good. He needs to see Spottednight as soon as possible!" She told him. "Now go help them get rid of that thing!" Mythicstream kept checking on Faintstep. He was gonna be alright, she could tell but still... he needed to see Spottednight. Mythicstream waited for Silverfall. The sooner she gets here the better. Mythicstream winced in pain again. Her own wound was getting to her. She looked at her hurt shoulder and all she saw was blood.

Iceowl looked ahead of him and could smell the fresh scent that the other left. He glanced back at Mythicstream, "Silverfall will be here soon. why don't you rest your feet for awhile until she does?" he meowed seeing her in pain made him flinch. He didn't like seeing cats in pain, it brought back too many memories. "I'll go help the others now!" he said and then began to run ahead.
He ran quickly and caught sight of Hawkpaw and Hazelstars behinds running ahead. He jolted himself forward and met the shoulder of his son, "Good work Hawkpaw! keep it up!" he praised the young tom. Hawkpaw didn't want to slow himself up by talking so he just tipped his head.
Iceowl passed his son and was right on Hazelstar and the foxes heels.

Mythicstream nodded. She laid down beside Fainstep. "Silverfall should be hear soon..." She told Fainstep though she was also assuring herself. Her shoulder was now in more pain then she could imagine it to be. That fox must have really got her. She must of been so distractced by Fainstep's injury she didn't even think about hers. Mythicstream stood up. "I'm gonna get as far as I can to the camp as I can without Silverfall." She told him. "To get their quicker." Mythicstream gently began dragging Fainstep towards the camp. Her shoulder hurt worse now that she was dragging Fainstep but she had to get to Spottednight as soon as possible.

Fainstep came to,though painfully.Silverfall had now reached them,and the once beutiful checked over the warriors swiftly."Mythicstream,stop dragging him,he can walk now."She led her brother to camp,having the confused cat follow her winding silver,scared,striped tail.
